Homeopathy for Chronic Diseases

Originating in Germany in the 1700s, homeopathy is based on the principle of “like cures like.”  A natural medical system, homeopathy treats illness with minute doses of substances, which in larger amounts would cause the symptoms it is curing. These minute substances produce a curative response.

A proven system of healing, homeopathy aids the natural tendency of the body to heal itself. Aside from disease symptoms, homeopaths use aspects of the individual’s physical and psychological states in remedy recommendations. Homeopathy utilizes formulas that are nontoxic and have no side effects. There are over three thousand homeopathic remedies composed of plants, minerals and other natural substances.

Many chronic conditions that are unresponsive to conventional therapies can be treated successfully with homeopathic remedies. Chronic fatigue, back pain, arthritis, anxiety disorders, fibromyalgia, sleep difficulties, headaches, and allergies, among other conditions, can be alleviated with homeopathic remedies.

Homeopathy stimulates the body’s defense mechanisms and processes to prevent or treat illness. Many people who choose homeopathic therapy for their chronic ailments and conditions report long-term health improvements.

A recent study carried out at Bristol Homeopathic Hospital, UK, produced findings indicating that more than 70 percent of patients with chronic diseases reported homeopathy improved their conditions. The six-year study included over 6,500 patients.

Of study participants, 89 percent who had asthma said homeopathy helped them while 68 percent of eczema patients said they felt better after treatment. Patients on average reported a significant decline in symptom severity over time.

For individuals taking allopathic medications or therapies, homeopathic remedies can be safely integrated into conventional treatment. Homeopathic health care plans may include dietary modification, exercise recommendations and supplements.
